Emissions exchange

BP has launched a programme to assist companies with the impact of the Climate Change Levy. Through its new energy-environmental service UK industrial companies will be able to better manage their energy needs and reduce emissions, says BP. The service will also seek to help firms generate surplus emission credits and provide expert advice on how these can be traded through the UK emissions trading scheme.

"BP has a substantial experience-base in energy environmental management and emissions trading through piloting our own successful internal emissions trading scheme and our involvement with the UK emissions trading group," says BP's innovations manager Alistair Dutton. "We want to offer this experience to our customers to show how energy-environmental management is as good for business as it is for our environment."
