Experts from some of the world's most successful companies will be offering free advice to new entrepreneurs at this year's Venturefest, the venture capital event organised by Oxford University and other leading commercial and academic institutions. Anyone can register to attend Venturefest, which this year will be held at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL), in Oxfordshire, from 24-25 June 2002.
Companies providing advice and support services at Venturefest include Barclays, Manches, SEEDA (South East England Development Agency), Business Link, Grant Thornton, Milton Park Ltd, London Stock Exchange, Advent Venture Partners and Boult Wade Tennant.
"We are absolutely delighted with the commitment and support we have received from our sponsors this year," says Tim Cook, Venturefest chairman. "The main exhibition marquee, presentations and networking events are all designed to encourage an active dialogue between companies and entrepreneurs. Visitors could even come away with funding to start and grow their businesses from one of the many venture capital companies and private investors looking for promising new businesses to support."
Planned seminar subjects include advice on setting up and managing innovation-based businesses, a young-person's business plan clinic, future technologies and many more.
